On Tuesday afternoon, one of the three giant pandas reported missing from the Wolong Breeding Center in Sichuan Province has returned unharmed, but the other two remain missing. Xiong Beirong an official with Sichuan's Provincial Forestry Bureau said that staff members from the Wolong Breeding Center are still searching for the two missing giant pandas. He said that the two missing pandas were, "very likely to be alive". "Both pandas are adults and are more capable to escape from dangers than younger ones." The quake killed five staff members in the Wolong center and left all of the pandas cells severely damaged. Two of the center's giant pandas were injured when their cells collapsed during the quake. Six other giant pandas escaped during the quake. Four of them have returned unharmed over the past few days. The condition of the wild pandas is still unknown. The local government has sent bamboo, apples, and medicine for the pandas, as well as food and supplies for the workers of the center.
